Site Info

Diavolo Nero first went online on 17th July 2001 with V1: Undead Love. Previously, this site was called Soulstar Fanfic (& Graphics), and as such had been online since May 2000. The current version (V2: Time Travellers), which uses the eFiction script, went live on 23rd March 2006. V1 is still available as a site skin if you prefer that. The site is run by Soulstarsinger.

Recommended Settings
The site should look good in all reasonably up-to-date browsers, and be viewable in all others. If you have problems, please contact me to let me know.
The skin that "Time Travellers" is based on was designed for Mozilla Firefox. I've also made it as IE compliant as I can, so it should look fine in all browsers. You'll need a screen resolution of 800/600+.
The "Undead Love" skin is also Firefox / IE / Opera compliant, and suits screen resolutions between 640x480 and 1152x870.

The Site Name Story
Yup, there's a nice involved story behind the site name. You see, I'd got a tad bored with Soulstar Fanfic / Graphics - it did what it said on the tin. Blah. Not nearly complicated enough. ;-) So I started looking for something different. Since most of my fic at the time revolved around Spike and/or Dru, I decided to go with something at least slightly relevant to them. In the crossover episodes Fool For Love / Darla, the images of the 'fanged four' striding through the destruction of the Boxer Rebellion made me think of something I remember reading when I was younger - that a Chinese phrase for foreigners / white people (in the 19th century, at least) translated to "white devil(s)". Which seemed mighty appropriate to those four, but sounded a bit odd to me as a site title. So I tried translating it into different languages. Since it somehow didn't sound... well, evil enough, in the end I tried "black devil" instead. And that's what we have. Diavolo Nero = Black Devil (in Italian). And if I've mis-translated, I'm going to feel like a right berk.....
